About Us
Why do we do what we do?
Purpose, Passion, People, Plan, Process, Product
Purpose:
Not to get philosophical, but every company, every product, and every project has a purpose. A reason for being.
No matter what type of need a client has, a video, an infographic, illustrations, a marketing plan, a social media presence, a commercial, branding & identity, or anything else, the first question we ask is:
Why?
Why do you need this?
That is the purpose.
Passion:
It's cliche, but what gets you out of bed in the morning? What gets your blood flowing? What drives you?
For me it's telling stories? Those stories could be non-fiction documentaries, feature films, or television programs, but more often the smaller stories are more fascinating.
Creating an identity, a "brand," for a local dentist? Did you know she offers free care to the underprivileged and volunteers at a homeless shelter?
Establishing a new research capability for a fortune 50 company and building it from the ground up? A capability that now brings them tens of millions of dollars a year.
Figuring out how to entice the best and brightest minds in technology not to go to Google or Apple, but to someone they would never ordinarily consider.
Teaching a CEO who is at home in the board room to be just as comfortable in front of a camera or speaking to a conference of several thousand.
Developing dozens of professional wrestling behind the scenes from guys wearing silly costumes pretending to fight into recognizable stars that fans buy tickets to see.
It's all telling stories.
People:
A jack of all trades is a master of none. There are many things that all of us do well. That we are qualified experts to do. Some of them we do better than others. Others we can do well. Others we are competent to do. There are some things that we all know others can do much better than we can.
Here's something you won't hear a lot of people say: I believe that one of the greatest strengths a person can have is the ability to recognize their weaknesses.
One of the keys to a great project is building the right team. Bringing together the right people with the right skills to fill the right roles and deliver the right product.
Sometimes it's a one person job.
Sometimes it requires an enormous staff.
Sometimes we might send you to someone else.
Plan:
You can have a compelling purpose.
You can put all of your passion into it.
You can bring together the right people.
If you don't have a plan then none of that matters.
A goal without a plan is a wish.
Not only does your project need a production plan, steps and deadlines that will ensure that progress is continually made and the project keeps moving forward towards completion, but equally important is your plan when the project is completed.
This is where many professionals in this field come up short. They deliver a final product that blows your mind. It's better than you could have ever imagined, but once it's done they drop it off on your doorstep with a handshake and a wave. Maybe a "good luck."
We believe that Socialization is just as important as creation. A socialization plan should be created and in place prior to the completion of the product because the final product should always fit your socialization plan.
Process:
So how does all this voodoo work?
Do we wave a magic wand over a pot of eye of After Effects, hair of scriptwriter, the blood of a cinematographer, and a couple of graphics cards and cell phones?
Well no, but that would be cool.
The process is always different. That sounds like a cop out, but it's true.
We've all been clients as many times as we've been the producers so we understand the sinking feeling of dread and apprehension that comes when you hand over your project to someone and trust them to deliver what you want and what you need.
That's why we believe so strongly in the pre-production stage.
Figuring out your purpose, why we are doing what we are doing.
Applying passion, both yours and ours.
Building the best possible team with all the right skills.
Creating a plan, that ensures we reach your audience.
From there we point our team towards our goal and let creativity take over. allowing them as much freedom as possible, reining them in when necessary, but always making sure that your story stays in the forefront while staying respectful of your budget and deadlines.
Product:
This is what we've worked for.
The Purpose. The Passion. The People. The Plan. The Process.
They've all led here.
The project has been worked over, refined and revised.
It tells your story.
And everyone is going to see it.
