Approach
How do we do this voodoo? First you need a magic wand, a cauldron and the eye of a Motion Graphics Designer...
Idea
Here's where we start. You had an idea and you brought it to us. Now we just need to plant this seed, give it some water and help it grow.
Audience
Who are we talking to? Internal? External? Wide audience? A select few? Management? C-Suite? The Common Man? Defining the audience helps to define the story.
Inspiration
Have you seen this? It's amazing! Did you see that? It blew my mind. Did you see that thing? You know. That thing? The thing with the guy? I want this to be just like that. We all see things we like everyday. Things that inspire us. That's a good place to start. You tell us what you like and we'll bring some things that we like back to you.
Goal
What are we after? What are we saying? We know who our audience is. Why do they care? What do we want them to do? What is the story?
Plan
A goal without a plan is a wish?
How are we going to ensure that our audience sees your story? Do we know where they are? And how to reach them? Do we need to find them? What channels are we going to use to reach them? How are we going to use them? Do we have any restrictions?
Development
Now we get creative. The brains do some storming. We take the ideas and inspiration and develop concepts and looks for the project. We give you options for how we can tell your story. Different spins on the look, the feel and the story. Then we put together a plan and outline to move forward. We lay out everyone's responsibilities and propose timelines and deliverables.
Script
Once an option is selected, we get down to work. Behind the scenes, there's a lot going on as we pull together a team, cut the first thing you'll see is the script. Now we're telling your story. You'll receive a first draft that we'll work together to revise and rewrite. We'll consult with your subject matter experts to make everything is accurate and we're telling your story the right way.
Storyboards
Once the script is locked we start to show you know your story will look. These aren't final images, but more like placeholders. They are designed to give you an idea of how thing will look. Think of them as a picture book version of a movie.
Production
Here's where we get down to the heavy lifting. The script and storyboards have been approved so now it's time to make magic. The team that has been assembled all has their roles to fill. If filming is required, the crews go out and capture interviews, b-roll, narrative scenes and any other footage that we need. Back at the offices, other team members such as Graphic artists, Motion Designers, 3D Animators, Sound Designers and Audio Technicians are creating the other aspects of your piece. If a voiceover artist is needed, we'll help you find just the perfect one, no matter where they are in the world.
Rough Cut
When all the pieces are complete, an editor works with the director and producer to bring the story together. They meld footage, animation, motion graphics, voiceover, special effects, music and much more into the first draft of the project. A rough cut IS NOT the final version of the project. It is a milestone along the way. An opportunity for you and your team to provide feedback and make sure the story is headed in the right direction. Usually, the necessary changes are small, but sometimes they are bigger and that's okay.
Fine Cut
The Fine Cut is much closer to the final product. We've taken your feedback from the Rough Cut and incorporated it into the piece. Graphics, animations and sound design are much closer to final. We're getting close to the end so the changes here should be minor.
Final Cut
The Final Cut is the finished product. The culmination of all of the hard work. The final touches have been applied to ensure that your story has been told as clearly and as powerfully as possible.
Delivery
Congratulations! It's your product! Now we bring it to your door. Hot and ready, but probably not in 30 minutes or less. Now matter how you've decided to distribute your product, we can supply it. Digital files of various types and compressions. Blu-Rays. DVDs. Thumb Drives. On-Line. Carrier Pigeon (to be fair we're still perfecting that one).
Socialization
Now that you have this great product, it's time to show it to the world. Remember that great plan we developed nine steps ago? Way way back at the beginning of this process? Well now it's time to put it to work. It might need to be refined a little bit based on any changes that occurred along the way, but for the most part it should be ready to go. We just implement the plan and get the word out to your audience.
